History

Ars Arthro Biotechnology Inc. was founded in Ankara in 2005 as Türkiye’s first private biotechnology laboratory, through a technology transfer from Germany. The work it began at Bilkent University Cyberpark grew into a comprehensive laboratory and production centre, which moved to a larger site in Yaşamkent in 2016.

In its current building, the company has set up production lines to the TS EN ISO 13485 standard in Class 1000 and Class 10000 clean rooms and well-equipped R&D laboratories. From these facilities it provides OEM manufacturing and consultancy to pharmaceutical, cosmetics and medical device companies such as ABDİ İBRAHİM İlaç A.Ş., ALGAN Sağlık, DOĞRU Biyoteknoloji and CES Tıbbi Ürünler.

In its founding years, Ars Arthro Biotechnology worked in tissue engineering (cartilage tissue, fibroblast filler material), biomaterial design and stem cell applications. From 2014 onwards its scope widened to the development and marketing of plant-based medical devices. The company has successfully completed a number of projects supported by TÜBİTAK, KOSGEB and the Ministry of Industry, developing many new products along the way. Active in cosmetics as well as medical device manufacturing, Ars Arthro Biotechnology has built a portfolio among the trusted brands of the sector.

Many R&D projects on different subjects are under way in the Ars Arthro Biotechnology laboratories today. Work continues on commercialising products developed by university faculty and by the company’s own specialists, leading to new products for a range of indications. At its core, the company takes a pioneering and competitive approach to turning traditional, plant-based products of ethnobotanical value in Türkiye into healthy products through modern biotechnological methods.
